If that’s not enough, he’s NEVER made a sequel before his upcoming project that’s due out in 2017, and has a podcast named after him titled _____ is The Greatest Actor of All Time Period!
This is a real moment for him to bask in some well-deserved glory…
He’s had so many hits, you could call him a man on fire…
Give up?
It’s Denzel Washington!
When making the announcement, Soria said:
“Washington’s long and storied career is earmarked by his countless roles in front and behind the camera. It is the HFPA’s privilege to honor his contributions to the entertainment industry with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.”
The award is given out every year to an extremely talented person for their contributions to the world of entertainment.
Previous winners include George Clooney (2015), Woody Allen (2014), Jodie Foster (2013), Morgan Freeman, (2012), Robert De Niro (2011), Martin Scorsese (2010), Steven Spielberg (2009), Warren Beatty (2007), Anthony Hopkins (2006), and Robin Williams (2005).
Even though Washington has already won, the Training Day actor will have to wait for the award ceremony on Sunday, January 10, 2016 to pick up his prize.
If that’s not enough incentive for you to tune in, Ricky Gervais is hosting the event which will air live coast-to-coast on NBC from 8:00-11:00 p.m. (EST)!
Are You happy to see Denzel get this AH-Mazing honor??
