Anthony Hopkins doesn’t know and doesn’t care if he is a grandfather.
In a new interview with the British magazine Radio Times, the 80-year-old coldly admits he has no idea if his estranged only child, Abigail Harrison, has made him a grandfather.

As you may know, Hopkins opted out of raising his daughter when he split from his first wife when Abigail was only four. The father-daughter duo briefly reunited in the ’90s, but have since had another falling out.
The actor, whose latest role is King Lear, didn’t hesitate to say:
“I don’t have any idea. People break up. Families split and you get on with your life. People make choices. I don’t care one way or the other.”
When told that he sounded “cold,” the Oscar winner added:
“Well, it is cold. Because life is cold. It’s like John Osborne‘s response when someone said to him, ├óΓé¼╦£Mr. Osborne, your play is so offensive,’ and he said, ├óΓé¼╦£Life is offensive.'”
