It’s just been announced that the 74-year-old will take on an “editor at-large” role which will have her producing four fashion editorials a year for the publication, although she will still have an office and assistant at Cond├â┬⌐ Nast.
In an interview with Business of Fashion regarding this big shift, she said:

“I really love Vogue, it’s been in my life always, they discovered me as a model at 19. I’m not running away from Vogue, because it has opened so many doors. But it will be nice to collaborate, and nice to go out [and] give talks to people. It’s just another approach. I’m certainly not going into retirement. I don’t want to sit around.”

The decision was also discussed with the mag’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour:

“Anna and I always check in with each other. It grew out of those conversations. I guess I kept going to her and saying, ├óΓé¼╦£Do you mind if I do a book, do you mind if I do a thing?’ She has always been really respectful of me, just as I am respectful of her. She saw that I wanted to branch out a little bit.”

Now that she has more opportunities available to her, Grace is working on launching her own fragrance with Comme des Garçons and writing another book to be released in the fall!
We wish her the best with new endeavors!
