Halle Berry & Jennifer Garner's Testimony Helps New Paparazzi Law Pass!

Halle Berry fought the law…and Halle WON!

The pregnant Oscar-winning actress was sick and tired of the paparazzi hounding her and her daughter everywhere they went!

Until recently, there was nothing on the books in California that said the press couldn’t constantly follow them and take endless pictures for their own profit!

But that’s all about to change now!

Thanks to the testimony from Halle and her fellow famous mom Jennifer Garner, the state has passed Senate Bill 606 into law! Starting January 1st, photographers who are found to be harassing minors who are singled out due to their parent’s profession (actors, singers, politicians, etc.) could spend up to a year behind bars and could pay fines upwards of $30K!

Halle spoke out about winning her fight, saying:

“I started this fight with a great deal of hope and a bit of uncertainty so I cannot express my immense gratitude that Governor [Jerry] Brown has recognized, and acted to remedy, the plight of children who are tormented because of the identity or prominence of their parents.”

This new bill does not forbid picture taking completely but it DOES clearly state that the pesky papz have to keep their distance from stars and their offspring!

Halle also personally thanked her pal Jen as well as new momma Adele for helping her in the quest to protect famous kiddos! She said:

“I am forever in awe of the support I got within my community from the enormously talented musician Adele to fellow actor, Jennifer Garner, who traveled with me to Sacramento to share her children’s stories, experience, and her desire to give them a better life.”

Congrats Halle B! Go out and celebrate! It should be a lot easier now that you won’t have any annoying shutterbugs in your way!
