Halsey SLAMS Commenter Who Accuses Her Of Using LGBTQ Community As A 'Marketing Strategy'

The Without Me singer quickly clapped back at an Instagram commenter who accused her of using a rainbow flag during a show as a “marketing strategy.”

The 24-year-old shared snaps (below) from a recent concert in Brazil, and in the second photo is pictured holding a rainbow flag in one hand and her mic in the other, accompanied by the caption “peak bi gurl evolution.”

Apparently, something didn’t sit right with one social media user who wrote:

“rainbow is the new marketing strategy.”

Shortly after, the songstress hit back with a response:

“There’s been a flag in my show for 5 years. You’re just not paying attention you whiny little baby”

Many fans left messages of support for the Grammy nominee, and praised her clap back:

“I’m dead?? from one bad bi girl to another thank you love ? ?️‍??? #wellsaid”
“queen!!! Plus you’re a part of the community how is that strategy. Have they not heard some of your songs like wtf”
“baby girlll this is a troll because real Halsey fans know you’re a bi goddess ❤”

This isn’t the first time the New Jersey native has used her platform to speak out about important issues recently. After Taylor Swift‘s music catalog was purchased by Scooter Braun from Big Machine Records in a massive deal, Halsey is among the celebs who are backing up the Reputation singer, and used Twitter to speak out about the controversy:

“Taylor Swift is a huge reason why I always insisted to write my own music. I believed if she did it (in a way that made my teeth ache like cold water and my heart swell and my eyes leak) than I should too. Cause that’s how to make someone feel. To drag it from the pits of your heart. To offer it on a platter and say ‘take some but take kindly.’ She deserves to own the painstaking labor of her heart. She has surpassed all expectations of what any artist is capable of. She catapulted her stardom into the Milky Way.”

The 11 Minutes artist continued:

“And it turns my guts that no matter how much power or success a woman has in this life, you are still susceptible to someone coming along and making you feel powerless out of spite. It speaks volumes to how far we have to come int he music industry. The way writers are treated. How as an entertainer you are respected but as a writer you’re walked all over. Even when you are both in one single body.
