We May Have To Wait ONE More Year To Find Out How I Met Your Mother!

Looks like they’re going to try and shoot for Friends territory here!
Not that we blame them…especially after last season’s ratings!
That’s right, How I Met Your Mother will be back for its eighth season come fall, but after the long-running sitcom had a surprising boost in viewership during last season – 8.5 million, to be exact – execs at CBS and 20th Century Fox have reportedly started tentative negotiations to renew it for a NINTH year!
But will the talent want to stick around past the 2012-2013 season?
Jason Segel has already stated to the press that he’s not interested continuing on with the show after this year, and given the entire crux of it all is dependent on, as the title suggests, how Josh Radnor‘s character meets his future children’s mother, the writers are apparently waiting to get the go-ahead from the studio before they start crafting the conclusion of that storyline!
And they certainly need a pretty solid head’s up way in advance, depending on if it’s ending this year or the following!
Sounds like there’s A LOT to work out before any decisions are made!
It will certainly be inneresting to see if these negotiations go anywhere!
