Dang, we really thought this It Ends With Us drama had died down! But someone didn’t get the memo!
The feud between star Blake Lively and co-star/director Justin Baldoni took over the summer, with some sources claiming Justin was a tyrant on set, being rude and sexist and “borderline abusive” — reflecting his character in the movie! Others, however, said it was all about Blake and hubby Ryan Reynolds using their star power to push the director around and make creative choices to benefit her. The latter narrative has certainly been bolstered by multiple resurfaced interviews showing Blake being something of a Hollywood mean girl!

But hey, brat summer is over, right? Time for Joaquin Phoenix-is-too-scared-to-play-gay fall??
Well, it’s not over yet. Access Hollywood caught up with Blake’s other onscreen love interest Brandon Sklenar on Thursday at the Ralph Lauren show in New York City. And they just had to ask about the drama. If he wanted it to die down, he probably shouldn’t have answered — but he hasn’t been a movie star very long at all! So instead he said of the coverage of the drama between Blake and Justin:
“It just seems silly to me. It’s kinda defeating the whole purpose of the thing to spread any negativity. It’s an important film for so many women and for so many survivors of domestic abuse. That’s what it’s all about, is making people feel heard and strong and loved. So to project anything but that seems counterintuitive.”
Hmm. He’s kinda implying the coverage is the problem. But… it wasn’t out of nowhere, right? We mean, he was clearly among the cast who shunned Justin at the premiere… and in all the film’s promotional material. That’s where fans first figured out something was rotten in the flower shop.
So if projecting bad blood is such a bad idea… maybe you shouldn’t be participating in it? We mean, he didn’t have to overtly pick a side like he did, hanging with Blake and filming videos with Ryan.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Brandon has opened up about the drama. In fact, he was the first to speak openly about what’s being said online, releasing a statement last month praising… “the women of this cast.” Even his statement seemed to markedly exclude Justin. So he’s asking for peace, but really it feels like he’s just calling for everyone to stop saying anything negative about Blake… right?
Asked about that statement, Brandon said:
“I put that out and I was like, ‘See how this goes.’ I appreciate those people that appreciated it.”
Well… it’s something at least.
What do YOU think about Brandon blasting coverage of the feud?
