As we mentioned earlier, Lance Armstrong was in a bicycle accident Monday while taking part in a five-day race in Spain.
The world champ had to be taken to a hospital in Palencia, where they thought he was suffering from an injured collarbone.
Unfortunately, we’ve just learned the injury was worst than expected.
Turns out Lance BROKE his right collarbone!
Armstrong was spotted leaving the hospital today with his arm in a sling (above). He is heading back to the US for doctors to determine whether or not he’ll need surgery.
He did say, “I’m miserable. I just need to relax a couple of days and then make a plan.”
And there’s worse news for Lance. According to Jacinto Vidarte, the spokesman for the Vuelta Ciclista Castilla y Leon race, it looks like Lance could be done with bicycling for the next three to four weeks.
Let’s hope he has a speedy recovery!
