Jack Avery is speaking out for the first time since the arrest of his ex and baby mama.
As we reported, influencer Gabbie Gonzalez, along with her father, Francisco Gonzalez, was arrested and charged with conspiring to commit murder this month. Back in 2021, the pair allegedly plotted to kill the former Why Don’t We member amid their custody dispute over their 7-year-old daughter, Lavender. Law enforcement claimed Francisco then sent Gabbie’s friend Kai Cordrey $10,000 to pay for a hitman to take him out. So scary!

Days after their arrests, Jack is now breaking his silence over the matter. He wrote in a lengthy statement on Instagram on Thursday:
“A few days ago, three individuals were arrested in connection with an alleged plot to kill me. One of those individuals is the mother of my daughter. For years, my family and I have endured intense public scrutiny, false accusations, and deeply painful attacks on our character and reputation. Throughout that time, I chose to remain silent out of respect for the legal process and, most importantly, for my daughter.”
The XOXOX singer stressed that his top priority at the moment is Lavender:
“Right now, my focus is on being the best father I can be. I’m thankful to have sole custody of my daughter, Lavender, who is safe, healthy, and deeply loved. I look forward to continuing to build a peaceful and stable life for her.”
On Tuesday, Jack filed for a temporary restraining order against Gabbie, along with sole legal and physical custody of their child, which was granted following a hearing. Oof! That must be a relief for him! The 26-year-old musician then went on to express his “sincere gratitude” for several people:
“I also want to express my sincere gratitude to my family, friends, law enforcement, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for their support throughout this process. And finally to everyone who has supported me and withheld judgment while the truth unfolded, thank you. Always seek the truth.”

Three of Jack’s former band members hopped into the comments section to offer him their support, including Daniel Seavey. He wrote:
“no one even knows the half of everything you’ve endured. your strength is unbelievable brother
love you so much”
Jonah Marais said, “Love you,” while Corbyn Besson simply dropped three prayer emojis.
It’s good that Jack has a strong support system around him! He’ll need it during a difficult trial process! Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments (below).
