This is so insane!
Last week, law enforcement revealed to TMZ that social media star Gabbie Gonzalez had been arrested in Humboldt County, California, for felony conspiracy to commit a crime. Neither the police nor the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office released any details about what she had allegedly done at the time. However, it was serious enough that she’s being held without bail. More details are now coming out, and it is wild!

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources say Gabbie is being arraigned on Tuesday in Los Angeles County for conspiracy to commit murder! She allegedly tried to kill the father of her daughter, former Why Don’t We band member Jack Avery! And her dad was arrested on Monday in Florida for the same crime, too! OMG!
Fans of Jack have known for a while that he had been a victim of a murder-for-hire scheme. In September, the singer revealed on the Zach Sang Show that the FBI showed up to his mom’s house one day and informed him that someone was trying to have him killed. Although Jack couldn’t say much about the case, he seemingly had no clue Gabbie was allegedly involved! He spoke very highly of her, calling her a “great” and “incredible mom” to their 7-year-old daughter, Lavender, in the same interview! Watch (below):
Little did be know then what would eventually come out…
Per TMZ, the LA County Sheriff’s Department said Gabbie had been in a custody battle with Jack over their daughter, and her dad, Francisco Gonzalez, got involved. A witness told cops that Francisco one day said it would be cheaper if the musician were dead — and he allegedly wasn’t joking.
Police claim Francisco concocted the plan in 2021. He allegedly wanted to track and photograph Jack in Hawaii, where he lives, to get footage of him smoking, drinking, or any other damaging evidence that could be used against him in the custody dispute. And in one communication between the family members, Francisco also suggested:
“Call Barca … never too early.”
Authorities say Barca refers to a man named Dustin Barca. Gabbie and her friend Kai Cordrey allegedly tried to recruit him to threaten Jack. In an affidavit obtained by People, witnesses alleged Gabbie repeatedly said she wanted Jack dead and talked about hiring a hitman to kill him. She and Cordrey allegedly even discussed using the dark web and Bitcoin to carry out the plot and spoke about staging his death to look like a car accident.
But they didn’t just talk about hiring someone to kill him! They actually allegedly tried to have it happen! Per the police, a witness claimed the influencer said her dad electronically paid $10,000 to Kai on April 26, 2021, for what he described as “web-development payments.” However, that was not the case. Kai later told cops that it was only a cover story, and he never performed any web services. With this information, a federal agent posed as the hitman and spoke to Francisco over the phone. Cops claim that during the call, the father made it clear he had made the payments and discussed the target to kill.
Whoa…
Gabbie, who has thousands of followers on Instagram and TikTok, where she documented her life with Lavender, remains behind bars, as we mentioned. Meanwhile, her dad has not been extradited to Los Angeles yet and is in jail in Florida. Jack also hasn’t spoken out about the arrests yet.
