Jackie Chan Reveals He Supports The Death Penalty For Drug Offenders Months After His Son Goes to Jail On Marijuana Charges

Jackie Chan has some harsh thoughts on what the consequence should be for those who are convicted of drug offenses.
It’s a bit surprising since his own son, Jaycee, was sentenced to jail for sheltering others to use drugs — mainly marijuana — in his home.

After being named the first celebrity anti-drug ambassador in Singapore, the 61-year-old talked about his personal thoughts on the punishment for the penalty.
Seeing as how Singapore and China have capital punishment for drug trafficking, it’s safe to say Jackie agrees with the consequences already put in place.
He says:

“On some issues, I do support the death penalty. When you’re hurting thousands and thousands of young children, I think these kind of people are useless. You should get the right punishment.
[Young people say marijuana] ‘it’s okay, it’s just like a cigarette.’ I say, ‘It’s not okay, not in my family.'”

The actor then went on to talk about how the drug charges against his son has made him change his views on his off-spring.
He said:

“I’m concentrating on him now. [It] used to be just, ‘You are a grown man.’ But now I’ve found out that he’s still a boy.”

Sounds like Singapore made the right call by asking Jackie to be their ambassador on this topic!
At least Jackie understands it’s a problem and is willing to work on the issue with Jaycee.
