Jaime King is sharing where she stands with Taylor Swift after she and her youngest child, who is the singer’s godson, didn’t attend the wedding!
As you know, Jaime and Taylor became close friends in 2014 — so close that the Hart of Dixie alum asked the pop star to be Leo Thames Newman‘s godmother a year later. However, there had been rumors lately that the pair are no longer on speaking terms due to Jaime’s “personal challenges” over the years. And when neither Jaime nor Leo showed up to the wedding at Madison Square Garden on Friday, well, it seemed like confirmation that the friendship is over.

But Jaime is setting the record straight now! In a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday, a rep for the 47-year-old actress explained the only reason she and Leo didn’t attend the nuptials is that her 10-year-old is too young for an adult function. They instead enjoyed a separate celebration of Taylor and Travis Kelce‘s milestone:
“The reason Jaime chose Taylor as Leo Thames’s godmother is because they both believe that being a godmother is a deeply personal and spiritual commitment that has nothing to do with public appearances. Leo Thames is still too young for a large adult wedding celebration, but he and his mother were able to joyfully celebrate Taylor and Travis’s marriage in his own very special, age-appropriate way during his summer break.”
Jaime provided no further details about the celebration at this time. It’s good to know, however, that if Taylor and Jaime had a rough patch at one point, they didn’t let it affect the musician’s relationship with Leo. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Tell us in the comments (below).
