Jana Kramer‘s new husband may be doing his best to be supportive of her very public-facing job, but there’s one thing the guy just can’t get behind: intimate scenes being filmed on camera! At least not when it comes to his wife taking part, that is.
On the latest episode of the country crooner’s popular Whine Down podcast out on Monday, she and hubby Allan Russell got to talking about a recent sultry scene that went down on screen in an episode of the fifth season of Yellowstone. The scene was between actor Wes Bentley (playing Jamie) and actress Dawn Olivieri (playing Sarah) — and it was HAWT! So hot that Russell balked at Jana ever doing one of her own!

During their discussion on the Yellowstone on-screen heat, Allan explained how he wouldn’t feel comfortable if his wife took on a gig requiring her to film naughty scenes. The Scottish former soccer pro explained:
“I was just like, ‘there’s not part of me that will ever, ever, ever allow that, ever, for a man to be that close to you like that [on set].'”
Um… what?? Jana is a 41-year-old woman. She can decide these things for herself — and has before! Recall our reporting from last year, y’all — all about how Jana filmed those SUPER steamy scenes for her Lifetime movie A Cowboy Christmas Romance. It was actually the first one of the network’s Christmas rom coms to feature a sex scene! But that was before she married Allan. And he says NO WAY!
Jana did ask point-blank if Russell would make an exception for a show as popular as Yellowstone — but he stood his ground:
“I’ll be, like, phoning the producers and threatening the producers: ‘You need to change that scene. For the good of your health, you need to change this scene.'”
Damn!!
Kind of joking… but maybe also kind of not joking?! LOLz! This is a line drawn in the sand for him, that’s for sure. So insecure!
But it all comes down to the fact that Allan isn’t part of the entertainment industry — and thus has trouble wrapping his head around the intricacies of love scenes! LOLz! Saying that intimate scenes on camera are “not healthy for any relationship,” he reasoned:
“That’s not good for a marriage, that type of role. It’s not, especially [for] a man who’s not in the acting world. It’s difficult. So, therefore, that’s my opinion based on [the fact that] I’m not in that world.”
The One Tree Hill alum did her best to empathize with her husband’s viewpoint. To that end, she explained to him how most actors don’t enjoy shooting those scenes, either, even if the final product is smokin’ hot:
“It’s literally the most uncomfortable thing ever. It’s so uncomfortable for the people that are doing it. And it’s not a sexy thing.”
Not wrong!
Actors are always explaining how sex scenes are cold, cramped, and awkward — and it’s all movie magic that makes it look real.
By the end of the pod, Jana’s talk helped, and Russell had conceded… a little bit. He said he’d agree to Jana taking on a more NSFW part if it would advance her career, even if he didn’t know “how I would handle it.” Hmmm. That’s kind of a red flag, huh?
Does this mean we might see A Cowboy Christmas 2?! Or is Allan going to stick to his guns and ban intimate scenes altogether?! It makes us wonder! How about U??
