Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin are determined to get through the rough times together.
The One Tree Hill alum took to Instagram to reveal she and her hubby are taking the steps to rebuild their relationship months after the couple was said to be on the rocks.
As fans know, the two sparked split speculation at the end of 2019 thanks to some eyebrow-raising social media behavior from Jana suggesting she and Mike were headed for a breakup. The couple were apparently still going through this rough patch at the beginning of 2020, but they’ve since vowed to continue working on their relationship — so they decided to “redo [their] New Years”… in mid-February!
Sharing a photo of them cuddling up while holding a nice glass of wine (up top), Kramer wrote:
“2 days away to connect, laugh, unplug and redo our New Years. (We even watched the ball drop). There’s nothing wrong with a redo and there’s no better time to rebuild than now. #rebuildingtogether #happynewyear.”
It’s not clear where the couple went on their romantic getaway, but it appears they were able to enjoy a hike and learn archery. In a separate post showing the twosome gazing at a mountain, the actress wrote:
“We made it to the top!!! I had lots of ‘Dear God, please help me through my anxiety and not let my head over power me.’ I wanted to turn around but man would I have been robbed of this view and the feeling of making it. I’m starting to think now of all the things I’ve held myself back from….I’m gonna force myself a little bit more to get outta my comfort zone for fear of anxiety. I’m sick of wearing that. It’s not mine and I don’t want it anymore!”
Get rid of it, gurl!
The couple hasn’t gone into detail about what was going on in their lives when Jana shared a cryptic post about needing to heal, but they did confirm that Mike had broken a “boundary” in their marriage.
On a January episode of their Whine Down podcast, the former NFL player explained:
“This past month, we still have growing to do in our relationship together and both individually. For me, it was really a time to really dig into and face the facts of things that I could do better in my own recovery and growing as a person and growing as a husband… I had to get real with myself and I had to realize that there are a lot of things in my life I’m not doing different and it feels at times that I’m going through the motion but even if I’m not relapsing or acting out or stepping outside of our marriage, if I’m still breaking boundaries or not being completely honest with things, how is that sober? How is that life changing? How is that living with integrity? It’s not. We needed time to again grow individually and grow as a couple.”
Looks like they really are committed to growing together, based on these recent posts.
We wish them the best of luck on their ongoing journey!
