Now, here’s a controversy that ended just as quickly as it started!
At the 2019 American Music Awards last night, eagle-eyed fans swear they noticed Jenna Dewan throwing shade at Camila Cabello during the singer’s performance of Señorita with boyfriend Shawn Mendes — but the pregnant dancer insists it never happened!

In the clip, the 38-year-old expectant momma was caught on camera seemingly rolling her eyes and whispering, “she’s always extra,” to her friend and stylist Brad Goreski while Shawn and Camila tore up the stage.

Many seemed to think the comment was in reference to the former Fifth Harmony star, and it wasn’t long before accusations of shade-throwing and drama took over the interwebs. This is 2019, y’all.

Out of the slew of negative responses, there were a few users who weren’t as quick to believe the hype! One Twitic shared:
“idk if she actually said that, but camila always performs with passion with or without shawn, other artists are like that too and this should be a good thing, not a dragg”
The interesting part is, Channing Tatum‘s ex even shared a clip of Camila’s solo performance on Instagram Story as it was happening! We don’t know about you, but this doesn’t exactly look like shade to us:

Well, all of those rumors must’ve got back to Dewan almost immediately because on her way home from the show, she took to her IG story and directly addressed them!
Alongside her pal Goreski, Jenna spoke directly to her fans and said:
“Hi guys! Leaving the AMAs. I’m getting a lot of texts messages from people wondering if I was shading Camila. No! I love her. I love her so much. I’m such a big fan of hers, I don’t understand what that’s about.”
The Step Up star wrote, “We love @camila_cabello @shandmendes,” tagging both artists on her post as Brad chimed in to add:
“Guys, we were bumping and grinding so hard to Señorita. We’re obsessed.”
The starlet agreed, noting “That’s my favorite song” before she ended her message:
“Anyways, clearing that up. Thank you AMAs. That was so much fun.”
