Tori Spelling is laying it all out there in a way that only she can.
On the latest episode of her must-listen misSPELLING podcast, the 51-year-old television star just keeps revealing crazy old stories. And just like always, we love her for it!
This time around, in the pod’s newest ep which premiered on Monday, Tori recounted one of the most OMG awards show moments she’s ever had.

The occasion was the 23rd annual American Music Awards in 1996. Tori was there to walk the red carpet and then present an award at the show. But as she remembered on this week’s podcast, the awards show came around right after she’d gotten her boobs done! So, naturally, she wanted to show the girls off — and she opted to wear something really revealing! A little, uh, too revealing, in fact.
Spelling recalled:
“It was during the phase where I had platinum hair and corkscrew curls, very like Drew Barrymore — thin eyebrows, big dark lips. And this [show] was one I was styled for.”
As she described on the podcast — and as old pics and videos from that fateful evening at the AMAs readily confirm — Spelling’s outfit that day was insanely revealing. It was (very precariously) buttoned across the chest, while left open below to bare her entire midriff. She remembered it being “light blue, shimmery, see-through, almost like suit [with] a blouse of sorts.”
Sexy, right? Yeah! But that “see-through” part is what came around to bite her in the ass — er, boob! Calling the ordeal a “nip slip situation,” she explained:
“At the time, I was all about tight dresses and everything. So I was trying to try something new … And I guess we didn’t take into consideration that it was see-through. And I remember doing the press, and as soon as the flashes went off, I could hear everybody chit-chattering. And I’m like, ‘what are they looking at?'”
She didn’t know??
Nope, she didn’t know! But her publicist did! Well, eventually. Dean McDermott‘s ex said:
“I could just hear people be like, ‘oh, my God.’ And my publicist swooped in and whispered, ‘wait, we have to…’. And she took me off.”
Oh noooo!
On the one hand, we can’t really blame Tori. She was young and hot, and as she acknowledged on the podcast, she had “just” gotten breast implants right before the show. Thus, “they were very perky” at the time, according to the star. And it makes sense that she wanted to show ’em off! Right?! Just, ya know, maybe not to that degree.
As for exactly how the wardrobe malfunction happened, Tori tried to remember the mechanics of the whole sitch:
“[The top] was cut open in a way that if I turned, you could just see all through the entire side of the boob. … I don’t think I wore a bra, and it was back before the nip cover-ups. So, I think you could just literally see it.”
Welp! That last line there, that’s what typically happens with nip slips. LOLz!

Oh, and as you might expect, this is not the first time Tori talked t*ts on her podcast!
In an episode of misSPELLING that hit the web last June, Tori confirmed she’s had multiple boob jobs in her life — including one at a strip mall. But now, she’s finally happy with where they are! She explained during that show last summer:
“I think they [her boobs] are okay now. My whole intention of getting them redone was to go smaller, because, looking back to the ’90s, I was like, ‘I liked my boobs. I wish I had just kept them.'”
We bet all those red carpet witnesses back at the ’96 AMAs wish she “had just kept them,” too! Ha!
