Taylor Swift Couldn't Go To AMAs Because Of Blake Lively: SOURCE

Everyone can blame Blake Lively for why Taylor Swift didn’t show up to the 2025 American Music Awards?!

On Monday, Swifties were convinced that the 35-year-old pop star would attend the AMAs and then announce the release date of her highly anticipated album Reputation (Taylor’s Version) when she got up to accept an award. Yet, everyone was clowning! None of those things happened! Tay wasn’t in attendance. She didn’t even win in any of the six categories she was nominated for — not even for Favorite Touring Artist. Shocking, we know. You would think after her record-breaking Eras Tour, she would have been a shoo-in for that category, but no. So, the Cruel Summer singer didn’t make a virtual appearance at least during the night.

Fans were left super disappointed and wanted to know why she was a no-show. Fortunately, a Dailymail.com source on Tuesday is now spilling the tea! Taylor was apparently absent because of the It Ends With Us drama with Blake! The source explained:

“She avoided the AMAs because she didn’t want to deal with 1000’s of questions about the Blake Lively saga.”

Damn…

As you know, Justin Baldoni‘s team subpoenaed Tay amid the ongoing legal battle with Blake, which ultimately fractured her friendship with the Cats actress for good. Taylor (and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce) wanted absolutely nothing to do with the whole mess, so when she got officially dragged into it this month, she was not happy! And given what Justin’s attorney alleged in a letter to the judge and sworn affidavit after the subpoena, we can’t blame her!

Bryan Freedman claimed he received intel from “a person very closely linked to Taylor” (reportedly that person was Scott Swift). Per the attorney, the source alleged the Gossip Girl alum threatened to release 10 years worth of private text messages from the Grammy winner if she did not share a public statement of support. This would’ve exposed her intimate relationship details and more! Blake also allegedly asked Taylor to delete their texts with each other. Jeez.

The subpoena was withdrawn, but the damage to their relationship was already done. There is no going back for Taylor. At this point, she’s over Blake and the drama and doesn’t want to be bombarded with questions or comments about it, so that’s why she missed the AMAs. The source said that “it is all anyone wants to talk about and Taylor is really tired of it.” She wants “to move on and she does not want to keep dealing with it.” Fair enough! After a betrayal like this from someone who you called a friend for years, we would feel the same way — exhausted and done!

As for how the award show went? While Taylor didn’t bag any awards this week, Billie Eilish scored in all seven categories where she was nominated, including Artist of the Year. And the Evermore singer is thrilled for her fellow artist — despite their past beef! The insider noted she “does not need awards to know how talented and loved she is.” Taylor also “knows that there will be more music and more albums with more awards,” with the insider pointing out that future wins are “inevitable.” For now, she is focused on having a good time after a busy few years. The source continued:

“Right now, she is just living her life and enjoying this time with Travis. There is no break, there is no drama. They are just being a normal low-key couple and are shying away from the spotlight.”
