The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was cut short before anyone could start cracking jokes, but don’t worry, Jimmy Kimmel filled in the gap!
In Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live (taped and aired days before the actual event), the comedian played an alternative to Saturday’s WHCD, which saw Trump in attendance for the first time, alongside many other politicians. As we all know now, the official event was shut down after a gunman attempted to breach the ballroom. One Secret Service member was shot, but he was wearing a bulletproof vest and didn’t sustain any serious injuries.

Jimmy began by roasting a change in tradition, noting the dinner would be hosted by mentalist Oz Pearlman instead of a comedian:
“At the Correspondents’ Dinner, typically someone funny shows up and roasts the luminaries and the president and everyone, but our president is a delicate snowflake with the thinnest fat skin of any human being ever, and that means there’s gonna be no comedian this year.”
He continued:
“So I thought why not take a page from the Kid Rock alternative halftime show and do some of the jokes a comedian might do if our president wasn’t a trembling drama queen who’s scared of comedy.”
LOLz!
The show then cuts to Jimmy standing behind a podium, joking:
“Welcome to the 2026 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Look at you, all dressed up in formal wear, dresses, tuxedos. I haven’t seen this much black since every page of the Trump-Epstein Files.”
Oof! Focusing on POTUS, the late night star dissed:
“I’m happy you decided to stay, Mr. President. And don’t worry if we bruise your ego — it will only make your hands look less disgusting.”
He also addressed Trump’s recent AI image controversy — you know, when he posted a pic of himself as Jesus then tried to backtrack and say he thought it was him as a doctor. Jimmy teased:
“By the way, in the unfortunate event that our president has a medical emergency tonight, do we have a doctor in the — I mean, I’m sorry. Do we have a Jesus in the house? I always confuse them, too.”
The performer went on to praise The Celebrity Apprentice alum for all he’s gotten done in his second term, noting:
“He passed new incentives for oil and gas. He put the brakes on solar and wind. That will be your legacy, sir: breaking wind and passing gas.”
OMG!
Undoubtedly, the most controversial joke centered around Melania Trump, in which Jimmy said she had “a glow like an expectant widow.” WOW!! A lotta conservatives online think he crossed the line with that joke, too!
Not done yet, Jimmy even poked fun at Melania’s Amazon doc:
“I want to congratulate you, Madam First Lady, on your huge accomplishment: the world’s first motionless picture.”
Hah! The Trumps weren’t the only ones who took a beating. Kimmel also joked about JD Vance and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, who he said puts the ‘cyst’ in ‘white supremacist,'” adding, “He’s like if baby Hitler traveled in time to kill us.”
Holding nothing back!
Wrapping up, the media personality told Donny:
“We are the hottest country in the world right now, and that’s all because of you, sir. You truly are the GOAT… and a monkey, and a pig.”
He then grabbed a big gold trophy, revealing:
“You made America great again, and you’ve made comedy great again. And that’s why I’m very proud to announce: The winner of the inaugural Burger King of Comedy Gold Award goes to none other than our president, Donald Jay Leno Trump.”
