Joan Collins Talks About Being Drugged & Raped At 17 For The First Time On Camera

no title
This is so brave of her because no matter how much time passes, sometimes the pain never really goes away.
Joan Collins has been honest about being raped by Irish actor Maxwell Reed when she was only 17 years old, but now she’s opening up on camera.
The 81-year-old actress spoke in the documentary Brave Miss World, where she reveals details about not only that awful night, but her life afterward.
Collins explained that Reed asked her out, then showed her pornographic magazines, and gave her a drink:

“The next thing I knew, I was out flat on the sofa in that living room and he was raping me. And what he had given me was a drug. He had drugged my drink. It wasn’t my fault but I didn’t know, I went out with him.”

At the time, Collins was not only a minor but also a virgin, so she explained:

“Well I better [marry him] because you know, he took my virginity├óΓé¼┬ª I really hated him, but I was so filled with guilt, that he had done this thing to me├óΓé¼┬ª It took a long time to be able to really trust any man.”

They divorced after four years.
We commend Joan on her bravery because there’s no telling how many girls she might help with this honest and open account.
You can currently stream the documentary on Netflix.
