John Edwards Has To Pay Back $2.3 Million

John Edwards Has To Repay

Federal Election Commission ruled unanimously that John Edwards needed to repay $2.3 million to the treasury.

Edwards, 58, was indicted early last month for breaking campaign finance laws by using political funds to cover up the affair with his mistress Rielle Hunter and their love child.

But what he has to pay doesn’t have to come out of his own pocket.

Which is weird to us.

In fact, his campaign account still has $2.6 million in it, and he’s allowed to use that, and the rest of it for legal fees. Yet, it’s believed that:

Federal auditors said all but approximately $200,000 of the total $13 million he received for his 2008 presidential campaign came from federal matching funds, The Washington Post reports.

Why would they let a campaign account pay for something he did personally?

Either way, friends and supporters of him are worried about his personal finances as he hasn’t had a job in pretty much 2 years. He used to be a multi-millionaire lawyer.

This is was you get when you have affairs and do stupid things to try and cover them up.
