John Stamos doesn’t understand how his TV wife got into such big trouble, mister.
The Fuller House star recently sat down for an interview with GQ, where he was not-so-shockingly asked about Lori Loughlin’s ongoing drama in connection to the massive college admissions bribery scam — for which she and her hubby Mossimo Giannulli are facing 40 years in prison.
While Stamos apparently has a lot to say about the scandal, he’s keeping tight lipped until his costar’s trial is over.

He told the mag:
“I want to wait until the trial happens, if it does, or whatever the result is, and then talk about it.”
Good idea!
That would also give the 56-year-old more time to make sense of the situation — because, as of now, he apparently still can’t “process” it.
He added:
“I’ll tell you one thing that has been strange is: Honestly I can’t figure it out. It doesn’t make sense. I talked to her the morning everything hit. I just can’t process it still.”
You never know what your costars are up to behind the scenes!
Although Stamos won’t say much about his TV wife’s legal woes, he did offer her some support by saying her alleged crimes don’t sound like that big a deal.
He noted:
“Whatever happened…I’m pretty sure that the punishment is not equal to the crime, if there was a crime.”
There very much was, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Massachusetts. As we reported, Loughlin and Giannulli have been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and honest services mail and wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering — charges they both pled not guilty to.

However, it sounds like Uncle Jesse wants the court to have mercy on the embattled couple.
Stamos isn’t the only Full House family member to address the un-wholesome subject. Candace Cameron Bure diplomatically offered Lori thoughts and prayers weeks after the scandal first broke. She said on the Today show back in April:
“It’s too personal to us. We’d never want to talk about someone that is a dear and close friend. But I think I’ve already said that we are family and we stand by each other and pray for each other and we’ll always be there for each other.”
In other words: everywhere Lori looks, there’s still a heart (there’s a heart), a hand to hold onto.
