Josh Duggar Prison Sentence Extended -- Here's Why!

Josh Duggar is gonna be stuck behind bars even longer!

The embattled reality TV star has been in prison since his sentencing in 2022, and he’s actually actively trying to get himself out sooner. But his appeal process has been completely put on hold as the court works to determine whether he filed his necessary paperwork before the required deadline! It’s a whole mess, and one simple error could cost him the whole case!

But before that even gets settled, we’ve learned the 19 Kids and Counting alum has been slapped with a new consequence: more time behind bars.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons as of last week, Josh now has an additional two months tacked onto his sentence, meaning he won’t get out of FCI Seagoville in Texas until February 2, 2033. Wow!

This is the THIRD (!!!) time his sentence has been extended after he was originally scheduled to get out in August 2032. Damn. But honestly? For the best.

His outspoken cousin Amy Duggar King confirmed the news, saying on Instagram that Josh is “again in solitary confinement” for a “rules violation” that resulted in the additional time. No information has been shared on what the violation was, though she pointed out that he was caught with a cell phone in the past, so it could be something like that.

She went on to absolutely BLAST him for continuing to have setbacks while trying to prove he’s a “good person,” saying:

“Accountability doesn’t end just because someone wants out of their situation or they want a second chance. You haven’t proved yourself. You can’t. This is absolutely disgusting.”

Say it louder!

Josh’s attorney, Beau Brindley, actually spoke to People on Wednesday and also tried to downplay the reported violation, saying:

“There is no way … to know the basis of a deviation of this limited magnitude. [It could] be the result of program availability, which is wholly out of the inmate’s control.”

Hmm.

No matter what happened, it’s certainly NOT good for his appeal! It’s hard to convince folks to let you out when you keep getting punished!
