Twelve years after the underwhelming third installment sent Jurassic Park to franchise purgatory, Universal is finally taking the first steps to move ahead with the next sequel!
The production company stiffened the movie boner in our dino-underoos today by announcing the director of Jurassic Park IV:
It’s Colin Trevorrow!
OK, don’t everyone rush off to IMDB at once!
Colin helmed Safety Not Guaranteed with Aubrey Plaza and it was one of 2012’s BEST quirky rom-coms featuring a time-traveling boat!
While the up-and-coming filmmaker’s resume isn’t as big as, say, JP4 executive producer Steven Spielberg‘s dong, we’re totes confident this project can be successful!
Sure, Colin has no experience making a summer blockbuster or, really, any movie with a budget of over sixteen dollars, but the man has heart — a quality too often lacking in today’s action/adventures!!
We’re sticking our neck out for you here, Colin — so remember us when you’re casting someone to play a velociraptor, LOLz JK!
Spielberg blew the world’s balls off with his Michael Crichton adaptation twenty years ago; hopefully Colin treats this project with the care and attention it deserves!
Otherwise, he might wake up one day to a flaming bag wheelbarrow filled with triceratops dung on his doorstep!
