Kanye West apparently doesn’t trust anyone anymore — and a former employee suing him thinks he knows why!
Yes, Ye is facing another new lawsuit, which means it must be a day ending in Y. But this guy worked with the Power rapper through some of his most erratic recent months — and may be able to give the world some insight into what the heck is going on!
A man going by John Doe is suing for emotional distress, retaliation, and violations of California labor codes. He says Ye hired him in December 2022 during the presidential campaign he’s since abandoned. First Doe was to be Campaign Manager, but then his role evolved into “Director of Intelligence.” Huh.
What that really meant, the 22-page lawsuit obtained by Rolling Stone attests, is that Doe was tasked with being Ye’s “fixer.” That meant getting ahead of bad press, handling NDAs, and… investigating everyone around the rapper. That included his own wife Bianca Censori! Per the suit:
“A particularly notable task by Ye was to have Doe hire private investigators to follow and ‘tail’ his wife, Bianca Censori, when she was traveling alone to visit family in Australia, without Ms. Censori’s knowledge.”
Damn. That is paranoid.
But it gets weirder. According to TMZ, Kanye had this guy investigating his former in-laws, Kim Kardashian and her family. Doe says he was told to follow up on the famous family’s “supposed various criminal links” — his boss believed the Kardashians had participated in “sex trafficking.” WTF.
Ye really thought they were going full Diddy behind the scenes??
Far from backing his former employer’s theories, Doe contends Kanye was getting overly paranoid — and thinks it’s because of his drug use, specifically his increased use of nitrous oxide. His attorney Ronald Zambrano told Rolling Stone:
“My client believes there is a direct correlation between the nitrous oxide and the increase in paranoia and siege mentality that ended up happening in that timeframe… There were internal concerns about the amount of nitrous oxide that was being delivered to his house.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard the nitrous claims. Ye’s former campaign chief of staff Milo Yiannopoulos said publicly back in August that he had a problem with the drug.
Doe believes it caused the sudden uptick in Ye’s “erratic behavior”. Back in May, he says, things started getting strange. Like when the Jesus Walks rapper spent nearly a million bucks on titanium teeth like Jaws from James Bond. He also fired a lot of his senior staff at that time.
Doe’s own parting came after he got a call about Donda Academy. If you’ve followed that whole legal battle, it won’t surprise you to hear he was told there were safety concerns for students. Doe says he passed the concerns up the latter and “almost immediately” Kanye “called Doe to yell, curse and threaten Doe with great bodily injury, including death, if Doe repeated what Doe learned from the Donda employee.” Not only that, Ye allegedly told Doe he was “f**king dead” to him — and put on a recording of “scary voices that were threatening to harm” the employee. After that, Doe claims, Kanye’s “enforcers” threatened him, too.
WHOA. No wonder he left, right?
Doe is now claiming all of these threats triggered his PTSD from his military days. The lawsuit argues:
“[Doe] experienced panic attacks, anxiety, and severe emotional distress, which caused him to seek medical treatment and was placed in a facility to address his declining mental health.”
The plaintiff is seeking the money he says Ye never paid him, as well as damages for the distress he suffered.
What do YOU think about these wild claims??
