Issa Rae hilariously roasted Kanye West when hosting the CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday — all while Kim Kardashian West was awkwardly sitting right in front of her!

The Insecure star took aim at the rapper in her monologue, poking fun at his widely-criticized comments about slavery sounding “like a choice.”
She said during the ceremony at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City:
“I’m about as fashionable as Kanye is black. Only when it’s convenient. That joke was my choice, just like slavery.”
Ha! Get ’em, Issa!
Kanye wasn’t in the audience for the event, but Kimmy Kakes was present and ready to receive the fashion council’s first ever *Influencer Award*.

But we’re sure the KUWTK star didn’t take Issa’s jabs at Kanye personally, especially since the actress had only great things to say about Kim on the red carpet beforehand. She told ET:
“I mean, there’s no doubt that Kim K has influenced an entire fashion industry, an entire generation of women.”
Miz Kardashian has also influenced three out of seven of Kanye’s new songs! She so deserves this award!
