Katy Perry has opened up to Rolling Stone magazine and even we learned something we didn’t know about her!
Miz Perry had some interesting tidbits to share about her upbringing, including stories about her parents, who are both devote Christian ministers. She revealed to the mag that one of her parent’s special “gifts” was their ability to speak in tongues!
Yes, for most of her formative childhood years, Katy heard her parents speak in a “secret, direct prayer language to God.” The custom was so common for them that it became as normal to hear as “pass the salt” for Katy.
Really crazy!
When the conversation switched gears to the subject of how lucky Katy was to find her soon-to-be hubby Russell Brand, her response gave even more insight to her interesting childhood:
“I wasn’t able to say I was lucky because my mother would rather us say that we were blessed, and she also didn’t like that lucky sounded like Lucifer…I wasn’t allowed to eat Lucky Charms, but I think that was the sugar. I think my mom lied to me about that one.”
Wow! That’s….a bit much.
