Katy Perry proved that she’s as talented a character as she is a singer in her outrageous music video for Birthday!
In a recent interview, Katy talked about how all the reactions of the unsuspecting partygoers were 100% real, which is crazy because those of you who have seen the video know that Katy does some pretty inappropriate things (like put a live mouse in her mouth in front of kids).
But how? How did Katy get away with all her antics, especially with no one calling the cops! The answer? Reality TV:
“Well, they didn’t know. This is the thing. We had to keep this super top secret. Of course, I had to go completely undercover, so it was skewed as a reality show called Birthday Blowout. So people signed up their birthday parties for this crazy reality show where anything could go, and anything did go!…The whole thing was staged. I live in the Truman Show.”
On top of that, Katy’s clown character almost got hit by a car, but don’t worry, she assured us all that it was all part of the plan:
“That was a staged incident. The car crash was all staged.
Uh, we want a birthday party where Katy comes out in character! Where do WE sign up, huh?
AH-Mazing job Katy, once again. We can’t stop watching you feed cake to a 90-year old with your mouth. Hawt.
