Katy Perry Vs. The Beach Boys

Katy Perry may be in trouble due to eight words: “I wish they all could be California girls.”
The Beach Boys’ label, Rondor Music, is threatening legal action against Perry’s label, Capitol Records, unless Beach Boys Brian Wilson and Mike Love receive writing credit and royalties from Perry’s hit song California Gurls.
The boys themselves seem to be playing the good guys. Here’s what Brian Wilson’s rep had to say on the matter:

“Rondor owns the track and called Brian and Mike, saying they were going to complain. Brian likes Katy’s record and doesn’t know where the situation stands.”
