Kelly Clarkson Goes Barefoot For Interview - And Guest Jim Gaffigan Makes It SO Awkward!

Kelly Clarkson just wanted to be comfortable on her own show — and Jim Gaffigan had to make it weird!

When the standup visited The Kelly Clarkson Show on Tuesday he immediately clocked that the host had ditched her shoes for the convo. Instead of letting it go, like a typical comedian he had to make jokes. After he laid down on the couch, she mentioned it was all chill and casual, and she was even barefoot. He went right in, asking immediately:

“Yeah, what is going on with the feet?”

He then mocked her, saying in a high-pitched voice:

“‘I feel more grounded when I sing if I’m barefoot. I can feel the ground.'”

Kelly laughed and admitted “it’s true” about her!

“That’s what I actually say! I do like performing barefoot! But that’s not why I’m barefoot. My feet hurt.”

She explained the stilettos she was supposed to wear turned out to be uncomfortable so she ditched them. Rather than grin and bear it she decided to grin and bare it.

And good for her! It’s her damn show!

“I just said no. I’ve never gone barefoot before, but that’s OK. That’s what we’re doing.”

Gaffigan kept jabbing at her, saying:

“For me, first of all, I wouldn’t have my feet exposed because I respect the audience.”

To which Kelly facetiously replied, “and I don’t!”

The Unfrosted star made it weirder by noting how a certain “portion of the internet” would be excited about her decision. Kelly was unfazed by the ribbing, laughing and showing off her tootsies as she realized she was “gonna get a whole new fanbase.”
