Kelly Clarkson Expertly Shuts Down Troll Who Criticized Her Failed Marriage!

Sorry, didn’t we leave the mom-shaming back in the last decade?

Unfortunately it seems like that’s not the case, as Kelly Clarkson still found herself fending off an overly-critical fan on Thursday. The original American Idol winner filled in for injured Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent this week, polishing off an impressive NBC trifecta as the host of her own show and a judge on The Voice.

One fan wasn’t so impressed with Kelly’s full slate of television appearances, and of course they felt the need to make their disdain known on Twitter. In response to a very innocent tweet from the singer to fellow AGT judges Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara, the condescending commenter tweeted:

“now Kelly is taking Simon’s place…no wonder her marriage didn’t work…surprise she has time for her kids…not the good old country girl we fell in love with…it’s all about Kelly being on tv…and no one else…no tears for her…but for her kids”

Ummm, WTF?

This response is so obviously off base and uncool, we’re embarrassed anyone would try to pull it off — ESPECIALLY on our girl Kelly! First off, this is the 21st century, mothers can hold jobs. Second, the 38-year-old has been at home with her kids throughout quarantine, while filming The Kelly Clarkson Show remotely. That’s not sad, that’s badass!

Unsurprisingly, the mother of three had an amazing response to her troll. She replied:

“Wow. Shaming a woman who has a great work ethic, is a great mom, and who steps up and fills in when a friends asks for a favor because that’s actually what “good old country girls” do…. this can’t be who you are deep down. I have more faith in your heart. Aim higher please ❤️ “

SO well said — and actually a lot kinder and more generous than we would’ve been! LOLz!

We shouldn’t even have to mention it, but Kelly pursuing a career in television is unlikely to be the cause of her split from Brandon Blackstock, considering he serves as a producer on her talk show. The singer even gave her ex a sweet shout out after she won a Daytime Emmy Award, saying he was the one who convinced her to sign on to the series in the first place!

Now, of course working *together* might have put a strain on their marriage, but it sounds like he sincerely supported Kelly’s career and ambitions (he was also her manager!). Basically, that troll really doesn’t know what they’re talking about, and should mind their own business.

Personally, we love to see Kelly on TV. In fact, we’d love her to take over the whole NBC network!
