Khloé Kardashian did not hold back!

Netflix dropped a new documentary on Tuesday, Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, which featured a candid interview from Lamar Odom‘s ex-wife about everything from how they met to his substance abuse issues during their marriage, his near-fatal overdose, and more. Khloé got into it all. Here are the biggest bombshells from the doc…

Their First Meeting

Let’s start from the beginning…

Lamar’s former teammate, Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, said he planned a party in Los Angeles and paid Khloé $5,000 to make an appearance. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star accepted, but only because of her brother, Robert Kardashian. However, the event ended up being life-changing — that is where she met Lamar for the first time. Khloé shared in the documentary that she had no clue who the professional basketball player was:

“Prior to this party, I did not know who Lamar was. I remember he had a plastic bag, and I was like, ‘What’s in your bag?’ And he’s like, ‘Candy.’ I told him, ‘You’re such a liar. You probably have condoms in that bag.'”

However, the reality star remembered Lamar “poured it out and it was all candy — and only candy,” leaving her feeling “so stupid.” For his part, the athlete had a different story to tell about their first meeting. He recalled:

“The first night, I was trying to f**k her the first night. But she said, ‘It ain’t that type of party.’ We got together the next day, then the next day, then the next day, and then the next day.”

The pair went on to date for only one month before getting engaged in 2009. Later that year, Lamar and Khloé got married. It was two years later that they got a spin-off show, Khloé & Lamar.

Reality TV

When the duo got together, Khloé already made a name for herself starring in her family’s hit reality show, KUWTK. And while some stars would want to stay far away from that world, Lamar didn’t. According to Khloé, he wanted to be a part of it. She said:

“He loves the camera. I remember I had a photo shoot, and I remember saying, ‘We can hang out for a little bit, but then you have to leave because the camera crew is coming. We’re going to film later.’ He was like, ‘Why do I have to leave?'”

In fact, Khloé claimed Lamar pushed for their spinoff show! She explained:

“It was led very much by Lamar. I was spread really thin. I also didn’t really want it to jeopardize the family brand, which was Keeping Up at the time. I thought there were so many Kardashian shows. I [also] reminded him about his main career: the Los Angeles Lakers.”

They ultimately went through with Khloé & Lamar, which lasted for only two seasons.

His Substance Abuse Issues

Throughout their marriage, as we know, Lamar struggled with addiction. The former Lakers player said he took his “first hit of cocaine” with a woman and her husband, and he got hooked. However, Khloé didn’t realize how bad his addiction became. She thought it was being “responsibly done” at first, but then he vanished randomly:

“At the beginning, it was a recreational thing. As silly as this sounds, it seemed responsibly done. It was two years in[to our marriage] when he disappeared. I really thought maybe something happened to him. I remember calling anyone and everyone while trying to find him.”

When Lamar eventually came home, Khloé said the excuse he gave was his youngest son, Jayden, who died from sudden infant death syndrome or SIDS at only six months old:

“He did come home, and I don’t want to say he blamed a lot [on this], but his reasoning for why this happened was because of [his infant son] Jayden’s passing. That was the first time I was like, ‘OK, this is something I’ve never experienced. This is a dark situation, and I don’t know what to do.'”

The Cheating

During all this, Lamar was also unfaithful to Khloé. She first found out about his infidelity when the other woman contacted her while he was high. Lamar said:

“One night I [was] going to Big Bear, California, and I’m getting high out of my f**king mind. The girl that I was with at the time, she must have been so blown back by it that she must have took my phone and contacted my wife.”

Khloé had a similar story, saying:

“Out of the blue, I get this call, and she said, ‘Hi, I’ve been f**king your husband. He is so f**ked up, and he just keeps wanting money and drugs, and I gotta get off this ride. So will you come and pick him up?'”

The television personality had “suspicions” but “never had anything tangible” to prove Lamar cheated on her until then. Oof.

The Intervention

A few years into their marriage, Lamar’s drug use got “worse and worse.” Khloé remembered he would often disappear for hours, sometimes even days, and leave rehab to use again:

“There were many times Lamar would go for 12 hours or two days and escape rehab. He would go on a drug bender, and no one could find him. I was either looking for him in alleys or looking for him in motels. He would have tinfoil cutouts or spoons, and he was freebasing things and leaving things everywhere.”

The Good American founder said there were times she needed “to go to hotel rooms to clean up after him,” noting she “was such an enabler without knowing I was an enabler.” Khloé added:

“But I just felt such a responsibility to cover this up, hold it together and protect him.”

That is a lot for one person to handle…

His drug use, Khloé claimed, “was monstrous” when he got traded from the Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. She continued:

“I’ve just never seen so many drugs in such a dark spot, and it was just such a dark aura around us. They weren’t testing for certain painkillers, and he knew which ones they weren’t. He was freebasing painkillers. … He was locked in the hotel bathroom for maybe four days just doing drugs. Has no concept of time. He was horrible because he was so f**ked up and high.”

Despite Lamar having a drug problem, they never went public with it — all to protect his career. Khloé said:

“When I really discovered that there was a problem, he was like, ‘You cannot tell anyone, I’ll lose it all. And if I lose it, where are we going to live?’ At the time, I was 24. I’m still trying to figure out my life. I had the show, but we weren’t making money like that. I remember just keeping all these secrets and feeling horrible about myself. I think youth had a lot to play with it. My first real love, and then you just feel for this person. You rationalize that this person died, and his dad is a heroin addict. Now, let me try to fix you and show you. If I love you enough, I’m going to make you better. But I was fighting every single day either to protect him to not let him get caught, which sounds insane. I was trying to make sure his image, how he looked and how he presented himself to the outward world was still that Lamar Odom. I didn’t sleep for years.”

Poor Khlo…

Things got worse whenever Lamar wasn’t in-season, even overdosing a couple of times:

“He spiraled again and did crazy drugs. He overdosed a few times. I had to pump his stomach — all privately. I got him help at home and detox centers. We did everything we could.”

It reached the point where Khloé had to have an intervention. She recalled:

“The interventionist said, ‘You’re going to go in there and you’re going to tell him he needs to go to rehab. If he doesn’t stay for a three-month program, you are going to say you’re getting a divorce.’ Everyone around me was like, ‘He’ll never say he wants the divorce.'”

Well, he didn’t shut down the divorce idea in the end. Khloé said:

“He’s like, ‘OK, all I want is my passport and let’s get the f**king divorce.’ I didn’t want the divorce. Lamar left immediately. He was like, ‘We’re getting the f**king divorce, and I’m never coming back here again.'”

The Overdose

Khloé ultimately filed for divorce in 2013 after four years of marriage. However, that got put on pause two years later. Lamar suffered a near-fatal overdose while at a brothel in Nevada. He came so close to death, experiencing “12 strokes and six heart attacks” during that time. OMG. And despite their messy breakup, Khloé rushed to his bedside at the hospital to be there for him. She claimed not even his own dad stuck around. He allegedly visited Lamar in the hospital but left soon after Khlo gave him “a pair of Nikes, $100 and a hotel room for the night.” How awful.

Lamar said Khloé “never left the hospital” for “about four months” — and he is forever grateful for her help:

“I had no control of my bowels. My wife helped wipe some of the s**t up.”

She continued to be there for him after he got released from the hospital. She set up a home for Lamar while he recovered. However, even Khloé has her limits on how helpful she is willing to be. And she reached it when she caught Lamar using drugs again after the overdose. Oh, and he allegedly FAKED how bad his condition was at that point to keep up his lifestyle:

“He was in his bedroom sitting on the edge of the bed and smoking crack. I just punched him in his face. I just put my life on hold to f**king take care of you. He was better than I knew. He was playing me so I can continue this lifestyle for him. I said, ‘By Monday, you need [to be] out of this house. I’m done. I’m not paying for a thing and I never want to speak to you again.'”

We can’t blame her for being so upset! Damn! She re-filed for divorce in 2016, and it was finalized by the end of that year. Years later, Khloé did speak to Lamar again. They reunited during an emotional episode of The Kardashians last year. Now, she is a part of his new documentary. At least the duo is in a decent place after everything they went through together! And they went through a lot, apparently! More than anyone probably realized!
