Khloé Kardashian is keeping the truth from her daughter True.
During Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians, the Good American founder opened up about the little bubble she lets her 6-year-old daughter she shares with Tristan Thompson live in. While chatting with BFF Malika Haqq, the 40-year-old revealed:
“True thinks me and Tristan are married. It’s just probably better for her. It’s not like she would really understand.”
Uhhhhh, what?! It’s “probably better for her”?? What about how she’ll feel when she inevitably finds out the truth?!

Malika assured her the decision to let little True believe the falsehood is “okay,” before Khloé provided more context:
“It is the right thing to do. In my opinion. Get married, have kids. That’s what I want to teach her.”
Hmmmm. We mean, another great thing to teach your kids is that happiness doesn’t always have to come from someone else… And that you can have a very full life as all on your own or in her case, as single parent!
There is, however, one thing that bothers Khloé about the situation — she’s raising True and son Tatum, 2, to believe that her and Tristan’s estranged dynamic is how marriage works:
“True thinks that me and Tristan are married. The only thing that bothers me about that would be I don’t want True going through life thinking this is what a marriage is. That you’re married to someone and they don’t live with you and you never have to kiss them, or you don’t sleep in the same bed together.”
She continued:
“I would love my kids to see me have a husband one day, and I would love them to see love and affection and romance. I do want them to have that. And when she’s older, I can explain it to her. But right now, I believe you do things for your kids because kids should not be involved in adult problems.”
We get not wanting to tell a 6 and 2-year-old that mommy and daddy aren’t together because daddy cheated multiple times and fathered another child — but we’re not sure this alternative is quite it, either.
The reality star did seemingly reveal she’s inching her way back into the dating game, though. She told Malika:
“I’m doing things, but I’m not on Hinge, I’m not on Raya.”
Khloé and Tristan first started dating in 2016 but split for good in 2021 after an on-again, off-again relationship after it was revealed that the NBA player secretly fathered another child with Maralee Nichols around the same time he and Khloé conceived Tatum via surrogate.
