King Charles Cancels Big Public Appearance -- Right After Putting Cancer Treatment On Pause...

King Charles CANCELS Summit Appearance -- Right After Pausing Cancer Treatment!

Well, this isn’t the best sign…

Right after reports surfaced that King Charles III had plans to pause his cancer treatments later this month — supposedly so he can visit Australia and Samoa for a royal trip with his wife — the monarch has bailed on another big appearance!

On Wednesday, Buckingham Palace confirmed His Majesty will NOT be attending the 29th UN Climate Change Conference, AKA Cop29, in Baku, Azerbaijan, on November 11 to the 22nd. According to Hello!, this was based on advice from the government. Uh, that’s eerie…

Why would they not want him there?? The Palace hasn’t elaborated, but, according to the Mirror, British government officials felt “an abundance of caution” was necessary in light of Charles’ busy schedule. A source elaborated:

“The King will not be going to COP. He has not been asked by the government to attend the event and he is also mindful of his own commitments following the upcoming autumn tour.”

We guess it’s good this isn’t due to an immediate issue with his cancer diagnosis — combined with the pausing of his treatment, one could certainly be persuaded to worry.

But it also says a lot that he wasn’t invited — apparently to protect his health! Clearly, he’s not out of the woods yet, and world leaders don’t want him pushing himself too hard. FWIW, the 75-year-old did attend the conference in Dubai last year — which is why many had expected to see him return. However, the father of two also skipped the event held in Egypt in 2022 per the advice of British officials.

Interestingly, this cancellation comes right after it was announced Charles will take a break from his treatment plan to spend over a week traveling around Australia and Samoa. As mentioned, he and Queen Camilla are set to travel Down Under from October 18 to 26, where they will participate in about 10 engagements a day between the two of them. Per DailyMail.com, the King’s doctors are “happy” to briefly stop his cancer treatment to allow him to travel — though he will pick up the medical care right after he returns to the UK. He’s been battling an undisclosed form of cancer since February of this year after undergoing prostate surgery.

Due to doctor’s orders, he won’t be extending his travels to New Zealand at this time. While he is set to be very busy, sources told the publication that arrangements are being made to “prioritize” his recovery, so that’s still sounding positive! Charles may want to push himself, but at least his team is looking out for him!

We hope his upcoming trip goes well and that there isn’t a need to cancel more events! Thoughts?? Let us know (below).
