King Charles III will be taking a break from his cancer treatments — but it’s a good thing!
According to royal expert Rebecca English via DailyMail.com on Sunday, the 75-year-old will be hitting “pause” on his cancer treatments next week during a jam-packed trip to Australia and Samoa. Per the outlet, Charles will continue with his current treatment plan until he leaves for the visit on October 18. His doctors are “happy” to briefly stop the treatment to accommodate his trip.
However, this isn’t a sign that he’s totally out of the woods yet. The King’s regular treatment will continue as normal right after he returns to the UK.

While it is not known what kind of cancer His Majesty is facing, he was diagnosed in February after prostate surgery. He’s been getting weekly treatment ever since, per the publication. So, the fact that they’re OK with stopping it seems promising. They must think he’s doing well enough to go without the medical care and to be jet-setting around the world! That’s a positive sign!
Despite undergoing the health scare, Charles has continued to stay committed to his workload, though this sounds like his most ambitious trip yet. The monarch will be traveling Down Under with his wife Queen Camilla for an 11-day visit to Australia and Samoa, where he will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Due to doctor’s orders, Charles has already apologized for not being able to make it to New Zealand during his travels.
But, honestly, we get why his doctors wouldn’t want him to extend the trip even longer. He’s going to be booked and busy!! Throughout his stay, the couple will participate in up to TEN engagements between the two of them per day. Whoa! The whole trip reportedly will only include one “down day” for rest.
Is that not too much for the cancer patient?? Apparently not! Sources insisted that organizers have worked closely with Charles’ doctors to make arrangements that are “mindful” of his health. Furthermore, they have organized the engagements to “prioritize” his recovery. His entourage will also include a traveling doctor, as is standard practice. That’s good!
Staying focused on work is also something that keeps the father of two “energized,” even though he has been urged to take things easy by both his wife and his advisors, sources noted. So, hopefully, this visit goes well and he feels up to it all!
