Jay Cutler is back out in public after his shocking arrest — and ex Kristin Cavallari has some thoughts!
As we previously reported, the former football player was arrested on October 17 on multiple charges, including driving under the influence and illegal possession of a gun, after a car accident in Franklin, Tennessee. What’s even more shocking? Jay allegedly attempted to bribe the other driver involved in the crash with $2,000 not to report the incident to the authorities! WHAT!
However, police still showed up at the scene. The responding officer noticed the 41-year-old athlete had “bloodshot eyes” and reeked of alcohol. While searching his car, the cop found not one but two guns inside! Yikes! Once Jay refused to take a field sobriety, he was taken into custody. Kristin later addressed his legal troubles but kept it short. She just wished him well and hoped he would get the help he needed. And that’s it. Now, we’re getting more insight into her reaction to the situation.

An insider told InTouch Weekly on Monday that the Uncommon James founder “isn’t happy about what happened.” Kristin and Jay share three kids, so of course she feels that way! He got behind the wheel drunk! What he did is so dangerous! The Chicago Bears star could have seriously hurt himself or someone else! However, there’s also a part of her that’s glad this happened. Yes, really! The source explained:
“She’s thrilled the world can now see that being married to Jay wasn’t a walk in the park!”
Ouch!
Kristin has been open about how “toxic” the couple’s final years together were. And even though time has passed since their breakup, she is “still bitter” about everything. So yeah, she can’t help but feel a little joy in everyone else getting to see who he is now. The insider said:
“She’s still bitter about the whole thing and regrets she ever said ‘I do’ to this man. It gives her great satisfaction to know the world has finally seen Jay for what he is — a total loser.”
Damn.
Well, Jay stepped out in the world for the first time since the arrest. Does he give off “total loser” vibes to you? He certainly looks 100x better than he did in that wild mugshot he took nearly three weeks ago!
On Thursday, Jay stepped out with his girlfriend, Samantha Robertson, for the premiere of the upcoming season of Yellowstone at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The NFL star sported a gray blazer and black undershirt. For her part, the 33-year-old girlfriend wore a long-sleeved black dress. He posted a photo to Instagram from the event of himself and Samantha, writing in the caption:
“Thanks to @paramountnetwork @101studiosco @yellowstone for having me out to the Yellowstone premiere for season 5. Going to be one hell of a ride!”
