Lady GaGa is reflecting on the lengthy journey her career has taken her on.
As the 13-time Grammy winner continues to generate chatter with her latest silver screen role in Joker: Folie à Deux and companion album Harlequin, she’s taking a moment to look back on the journey she’s been on — ups, downs, and all. During an interview with People published on Sunday, the 38-year-old reflected on maintaining her place as a central figure in the music and now film industry across multiple decades. She dished:
“I’ve been in the music industry since I was a teenager. And I’ve been working in the film industry for the last 10 years or so.”
But it hasn’t all been a breeze… Without saying much, GaGa alluded to some of the tougher moments of her career, adding:
“And, you know, I think that I just went through a lot.”
Just last month, the Million Reasons songstress opened up about dealing with rumors early on in her career that she “was a man.” During an episode of Netflix’s What’s Next? The Future with Bill Gates, she explained she never felt the need to clarify said rumors because she “didn’t feel like a victim with that lie.” Instead, the Oscar winner used it as an opportunity to show strength for kids who might be going through similar situations.
She also documented a LOT of her hardships in her 2017 documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, including breakups, mental health, and her battle with fibromyalgia. But she’s assuring fans she’s “in a new place” now! She told the outlet:
“I feel really grateful for the career that I’ve had. And I feel so grateful for my fans. Also, I think I had a lot of trouble with it at one point. I just feel a lot better now, and it’s nice to be able to say that. I feel really grateful to be able to say that.”
We’re so happy to hear that! We’re sure finding love in fiancé Michael Polansky has just been the cherry on top of it all!
