It’ll be a bitter sweet day when Stephen Colbert wraps up his long-running show on Comedy Central in order to take over for David Letterman on The Late Show.
But the cable channel has returned to The Daily Show well in order to find Stephen’s replacement! They announced this week that Senior Black Correspondent Larry Willmore will take over at 11:30 when The Colbert Report comes to a close!

Wilmore will host The Minority Report starting in January. The show will be executive produced by Jon Stewart himself so we’ve got a good feeling this new series will be a hit!
Jon congratulated his friend Larry, who has been contributing to The Daily Show since 2006, saying:
“While Larry Wilmore is a brilliant comic and showrunner, this is all just a complicated ruse to get him to move to New York and turn him into a Knicks fan.”
Wilmore sounds like he’s pumped for his new full-time gig too. He admitted:
“I├óΓé¼Γäóm beyond excited to have this chance to continue my relationships with Comedy Central and the brilliant Jon Stewart. I love the city of New York and promise to only wear my Laker t-shirts when I├óΓé¼Γäóm layering.├óΓé¼┬¥
