Lori Loughlin 'Very Afraid' Of Going To Trial Because She Doesn't Want To Traumatize Her Daughters!

Lori Loughlin avoid trial to protect daughters

Lori Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli may be freaking out as they face up to 40 years in jail for their alleged involvement in the college admissions scheme, but being put behind bars isn’t their only concern.
According to a legal source, the Fuller House star is most afraid of how her daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose, will be affected by the trial. The insider explained to People:

“Lori is very concerned about what a trial will do to her daughters. It will undermine every accomplishment they have in the future and it will be part of their story forever.”

We think it’s safe to say this scandal will already be part of their story forever. After all, they were the ones who got into USC thanks to their parents’ alleged participation in the scheme. Heck, we bet they can’t look at a gym rowing machine these days without feeling some type of post-trauma!

But the way Aunt Becky apparently sees it, her girls will only be more traumatized if they have to take the stand in court — which is why the mother-of-two wants to avoid a trial altogether. The source added:

“It’s not in their best interest for this to go to trial, and Lori knows it. Because if it goes to trial, the girls will have to take the stand, and be cross examined by a prosecution that wants nothing more than to put a notch on their belt… Lori is very afraid that her daughters will have to testify. That will traumatize them even more.”

Totally understandable! But we have to ask: if Loughlin cared so much about avoiding a trial to protect her daughters from being cross-examined…

Why the f**k didn’t she take the prosecution’s plea deal!?

Typically, if an indicted person pleads guilty to the charges, the court will arrange a sentencing appearance so the judge can sentence them. But pleading not guilty, as Loughlin and Giannulli have done, means the case has to go to trial.

Then why did the 54-year-old and her fashion designer hubby plead not guilty to “each of the charges” they’ve been slapped with — mail fraud and money laundering conspiracy — on Monday?
Based on what we’ve heard, the couple weren’t aware of how serious the charges were at the time they were offered the initial plea deal. Loughlin was said to be willing to negotiate after she was hit with the second charge last week, but, by that point, the prosecution apparently took the deal off the table.
So… chalk it all up to a bad attorney?

While this scandal has plagued Lori personally, professionally, and publicly, the actress now only seems to care about preserving one thing: her daughters’ opinions of her. The legal source added:

“Yes, she can think about the public perception of her, but that’s nothing compared to what her daughters think of her.”

It’s unclear how Bella has been personally affected by the scandal, however Olivia is said to be spending a lot of time at her boyfriend’s house and is reportedly not on speaking terms with her parents.
Loughlin and Giannulli are also laying low as they “thoughtfully” consider their next steps in the case. The source added:

“She will continue to make a good faith effort to put this case behind her and she hopes the prosecutors will do the same.”

Keep hoping, gurl!
