Love Island UK's Tommy Fury Spills REAL Reason For Molly-Mae Hague Split -- 'Something A Bit More Serious' Than Cheating!

Love Island's Tommy Fury Slams Rumors He Cheated on Ex Molly-Mae Hague -- And Reveals Why They Really Split!

Tommy Fury swears cheating was not the cause of his breakup with Molly-Mae Hague. He claims it was another personal struggle instead…

For those who don’t know, the two met and fell in love on the fifth season of Love Island UK in 2019. Everyone rooted for Tommy and Molly-Mae after the show! They wanted to see these two get their happy ending, and they seemed to be heading in that direction for a while! Months after welcoming their daughter Bambi in January 2023, the beloved couple even got engaged.

However, what happened next shocked fans! In August of last year, Tommy and Molly-Mae broke up! When announcing the split, Molly-Mae said she “never expected” their relationship to end — nor in the way that it did. Huh? That statement got people thinking: What did she mean? Why did they suddenly split?

The pair didn’t say, leaving room for rumors to start online. Then close friends of Molly started talking. They claimed to The Sun that Tommy cheated on Molly! Not just once, but multiple times! The reality star allegedly discovered he “was unfaithful to her” several times. She confronted the professional boxer and kicked him out of their Cheshire home.

Tommy has denied the rumors a few times over the past few months. For her part, Molly-Mae hasn’t confirmed or denied that he cheated. All she has said on the breakup drama is that they’d been going through something “as privately as we can,” and she wouldn’t ever talk about what that something was for the sake of their daughter.

But Tommy? He is no longer staying quiet like Molly! No, he’s not admitting to cheating either… In fact, the athlete denied the accusation once again in a new interview with Men’s Health UK on Tuesday. Tommy did spill his side of what really happened in their relationship though! He told the outlet:

“With my breakup with Molly, there’s been so much s**t in the papers every single day for the past six months, but if it’s not come from my mouth or Molly’s mouth, it’s complete and utter bulls**t. All I’ve been seeing for the past six months is ‘Cheater!’, ‘He slept with me!’, ‘He slept with this girl, he slept with that girl!’ Complete and utter bollocks.”

Instead, Tommy admits it was something else that was his fault — his “problem with alcohol” is what caused the breakup. Whoa. He shared:

“We broke up because I had a problem with alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. It kills me to say it, but I couldn’t. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink.”

And what didn’t help as Tommy struggled with his drinking problem was the intense backlash online over the rumors he stepped out on Molly:

“People go through different things in life. I’m 25 years old. I went through a lot and my breakup was in front of the whole world. It was talked about on Good Morning Britain and I’ve received so much hate for it. The most upsetting thing is that not once did anyone say, ‘Oh, he might be going through something a bit more serious. He might be in a bad spot.’ Not one person said that.”

Despite what people may think, Tommy insists “cheating was never a thing.” It was alcohol at the end of the day:

“You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing. You need to get a grip of it. If you’re in the same spot as me, where you just think that it’s going to cure all your problems, it doesn’t. You wake up even worse and you want to drink more to try and feel happy again. That’s the cycle of it.”

Oof.

Thankfully, Tommy is out of that “cycle.” Now he only wishes more fans questioned if something else was going on in his life rather than jumping to conclusions:

“I just wish people would’ve taken some time out, rather than giving me so much s**t every day, to think maybe there was more going on. Not once did anyone ask how I was. I checked my inbox. Millions of messages in there, all negative: ‘Do this…’ or ‘Do that…’ to yourself, but not once did anyone take any time out to try and help me.”

That’s really sad… He continued:

“I’m not looking for sympathy. Whether I do the right thing or do the wrong thing, people are still going to hate me. As long as my family loves me. I just want to do my fights, earn my money, and look after my daughter.”

We did not expect this kind of confession from him! Did you? Wow.

We’re glad Tommy is in a better place for Bambi following his struggles with alcohol. Thoughts, Perezcous readers? Let us know in the comments.
