The beloved rapper and social media star surprised fans on Thursday when he took to his Instagram account to post a new Story. The black screen had some simple text on it, featuring an orange heart emoji. It read:
“I love yall”

Heartbreakingly, just hours later his management idiscoverstars would announce the musician’s passing, almost as if this Story was a final message to his followers. In a since-edited caption, his manager wrote:
“Rest in peace @iamlucascoly I love you bro. My heart is ripped in half. Wait for me up there “
So sad! And so sudden…
A second post followed, with his manager writing in another since-edited caption:
“Being your manager was one of the reasons I stayed here. There’s a hole in my heart right now Lucas. We used to speak on our struggles all the time but smile for the fans. So many people hurt us again and again but we had each other. I don’t know what to do now. I’d be a hypocrite if I told you not to, and I go and do the same. Honestly, Lucas it hasn’t set in yet because I refuse to believe you are gone. Heart ripped to shreds. God send him back here. Please ???? I’m broken over here #riplucascoly #checkonyourfriends”
The young star’s manager also posted a video of himself crying, which has since been deleted. The head of I Discover Stars Entertainment added on to the gut-wrenching video:
“Check on your loved ones.”
In an update to Facebook which has since gone private, Lucas’ manager asked for prayers for the late rapper’s girlfriend Amber. He even claimed he was on the phone with him just “moments before” his death. So far, there are no answers as to what happened. So, so sad…
Lucas gained a following on Vine a decade ago, and since continued pursuing his social media and music career. He was most known for his song I Just Wanna. At the time of his passing, he had over 1.3 million followers. He was only 27 years old.
Our heart goes out to Lucas’ family and loved ones during this unimaginable time. May he rest in peace.
