McDonald’s is currently accepting applications for a new egg supplier.
An undercover video from an animal rights group has revealed that the fast food company’s main supplier, Sparboe Farms, was operating with “significant” health code violations including unsanitary conditions and repeated acts of animal cruelty.
Thankfully, as a result of a news piece from ABC (above), McDonald’s “will no longer accept” their eggs.
The undercover investigator from activist group Mercy for Animals told sources:
“I saw workers do horrendous things to birds, they were thrown, grabbed by the neck, they’re slammed in and out of cages.”
Ugh! So awful!
The FDA has since issued a company-wide warning letter to the country’s fifth largest egg producer, which has fired all employees involved in the inappropriate behavior caught on tape.
