Starting today, McDonald‘s will be giving away free 12-ounce cups of coffee all month to promote McCaf├â┬⌐ coffee hitting the shelves at a grocery store near you!
However, their rivals at Taco Bell seem to think the move is a direct response to their recently launched breakfast menu, leading to a fast-food war the likes of which we’ve never seen!
Taco Bell released a not-so-subtle statement, saying:
“We just launched the next generation of breakfast├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥it’s not a two-week promotion. Clearly, our competition is taking notice and reacting.”
Oh SNAP!! Talk about a super-sized diss!!
Of course, it probably doesn’t help that Taco Bell kicked things off by poking fun a McDonald’s with a pretty hilarious ad showing multiple men named Ronald McDonald chowing down on their new waffle taco!
Mickey D’s shot back by tweeting a picture of the REAL Ronald McDonald petting a chihuahua (above) and writing:
“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”
OHHHH! WOULD YOU LIKE FRIES WITH THAT BURN?!?!
There’s no telling just how far this back and forth will go, but it seems clear to us that these two fast food chains do NOT like each other!!
Can’t we all just get along???
