As Sussex fam fans rejoiced to see, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released the most adorable video of Archie Harrison on Wednesday.
In the vid, posted on the Save The Children UK charity’s Instagram page, Meghan gets her mom on, reading the children’s book Duck! Rabbit! to little Master Archie on camera.
While most were happy to get our best look at Baby Sussex in a long time — and his already dazzling smile — there were some Meghan haters who came out of the woodwork to blast the Duchess of Sussex!

None were more amplified than Emily Giffin, the best-selling author of Something Borrowed, who has spoken out about loving the Royals — but apparently HATES Meghan Markle with a fiery passion!
She posted a screen grab of the video on her Instagram Story along with the words:
“Happy birthday, Archie. Go away, Megan.”
Yeesh.
She then posted a rant with the header “what.meghan.wants (Megan gets)” — which shows at this point she’s definitely just getting the name spelling wrong on purpose, right? — explaining her anti-Meghan take:
“Adorable child and book. But …. Holy ‘me first.’ This is the Megan show. Why didn’t she film and let Harry read? And why didn’t she take the moment at the end to say ‘he said daddy!’ Because that would make it about Harry for a split second, God forbid… also, you want privacy for your child so you put out a video (by your authorized biographer) of him …. wearing no pants?! Ooookay….”
OK, wow. She’s upset because Mommy was reading instead of Daddy, and that’s proof of selfishness? And also that she dared to show a toddler in a diaper??
That is just such an incoherent criticism, one could be forgiven for thinking she had some other reason for disliking Meghan which she didn’t feel like she could voice. But that wouldn’t be fair to assume, right?
For even more context she shared a snapshot of a convo with a friend in which they both complained together about their mutual hatred of Meghan. Emily called Meghan “unmaternal” and a “phony” and agreed with her pal (someone called Hardie) that she was just an actress playing the role of a loving mother but “poorly.”
Ouch.
We honestly don’t know what Emily’s issue is, but we do know she’s a huge unabashed fan of the Royals and in 2017 posted that she was “obsessing over anything and everything involving the new royal couple.” We guess that obsession turned sour at some point?
