Meghan Markle saw those texts, and she is not happy everyone else did, too!
If you missed it, during the closing hearing in the Duke of Sussex’s lawsuit against Associated Newspapers on Tuesday, veeerrrry flirty Facebook messages between Harry and Mail on Sunday journalist Charlotte Griffiths were released. Sent between December 2011 and January 2012, the chats see the pals reminiscing on “a fun weekend of naughtiness.” Harry also complains about having to do charity work and says he misses the duo’s “movie snuggles,” calling Charlotte “sugar.” Oh, boy! Not only is it a little cringey to see his flirty texts, but they could ruin his time in court since he has claimed the publisher behind the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday used illegal methods to invade his privacy and secure information about him between 1993 to 2011.

Associated Newspapers had denied the allegations, arguing they had sources within his friend group. Harry shot that theory down, claiming he didn’t know Charlotte was a journalist at first and distanced himself when he found out. Not only did she hit back at that in a witness statement, but these texts seem to prove just how close they were.
It’ll be up to the judge to decide if these texts are enough to dismantle Harry’s claims. So far, there’s been no word. However, that may not be Harry’s most pressing concern right now…
According to a Radar Online source on Thursday, the Suits alum read through the new texts — and she’s pissed off! An insider dished:
“This has led to Harry picking up the nickname ‘Flirty Harry’ because of the tone of those messages, and Meghan Markle is fuming that all of this is now doing the rounds. Meghan feels it is embarrassing and frustrating, especially given how hard they have worked to control their narrative, and now these old conversations are being picked apart publicly.”
A second confidant doubled down on this:
“The fact that the messages come across as so playful and familiar has left Meghan particularly unhappy that this side of Harry is being highlighted in such a public way.”
The only good thing? The father of two was single at the time of writing these messages, and they were sent several years before he even met his now-wife. So, it’s not like anything nefarious was going on! But we can understand why she might be cringing.
