The birthplace of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor has been revealed, and it didn’t take place where we thought it would!
While it was highly speculated that Meghan Markle would be giving birth to her first child at home, she ended up delivering him in a hospital.

His birth certificate was made public on Friday after a representative from the Westminster Registrar’s Office visited the family of three at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, which revealed that the bundle of joy was welcomed at the private Portland Hospital in Westminster.
Sarah, Duchess of York welcomed Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Prince Harry‘s cousins at the same hospital, as did Victoria Beckham with her sons Brookyln and Romeo Beckham.
Like her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, the former Suits star is listed as a Princess of the United Kingdom on the birth certificate, though her full legal name, Rachel Meghan Markle, is also listed:

Note: Despite the occupations listed, neither Meghan Markle or Kate Middleton are princesses, technically speaking.
However, unlike her brother and sister-in-law, who released the birth certificates of their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, Archie’s certificate has not been officially released by his parents, but is available as a public document.

It came as no surprise that Miz Markle opted not to follow in the high-profile steps of Kate and Princess Diana, who both gave birth at the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in Westminster.
Royal author Ingrid Seward spoke out in April about the expectations surrounding Meghan ahead of her giving birth, noting that basically everyone was totally down with her forging her own path and birth plan:
“People are delighted that Meghan is doing things differently. She was under no pressure to do things the same. It is completely understandable. The Lindo Wing has become too much of a circus.”
Her entire pregnancy has been anything but conventional, as it was reported that the Duchess of Sussex was sticking true to her El Lay roots and turning to New Age techniques to prepare for a completely natural delivery:
“Meghan has been having regular acupuncture sessions to help her unwind and relax. It’s brilliant for the blood circulation and boosting blood flow to the uterus. She plans to use acupuncture right up to her due date. Meg wants a natural birth if she can have one. Her mother is very into anything that is holistic and natural, and having been brought up with yoga and mindfulness, it’s all very much part of Meghan’s birth plan.”
Regardless of where he was born, we’re just so happy Archie is FINALLY here!!
