Everything may not be as it seems with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix relationship.
On Tuesday, Variety ran a report claiming the couple’s working relationship with the streaming network has become increasingly contentious over the years. It’s no secret Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever has already been axed from the company after just 11 months, but one insider told the outlet “the mood in the building is ‘We’re done’” overall when it comes to the estranged royals. The source claimed the pair reportedly have “poor communication,” manners, and ratings. Ouch.
The report also said CEO Ted Sarandos is “fed up” with Harry and Meghan while Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria supposedly has “grown weary” of the pricey deal the company struck with them.

However, a Netflix spokesperson attempted to shut down the rumors, telling the outlet they’re “absolutely inaccurate.” Meghan’s lawyer, Michael J. Kump, also weighed in:
“This is blatantly false. In fact, Meghan texts and speaks with Mr. Sarandos regularly, and has been to his home, sans lawyers.”
Netflix insiders even went as far as to point out that Sarandos and his wife Nicole Avant regularly hang out with the couple as they’re all neighbors in Montecito. Bajaria told Variety:
“Archewell has been a thoughtful and collaborative partner, and we’ve really enjoyed working with Harry and Meghan. They’re deeply engaged in the storytelling process and bring a unique, global perspective that aligns with the kinds of impactful projects our members respond to.”
And now, Bajaria is speaking out once more in favor of the Sussexes.
At the Next on Netflix event on Wednesday per People, she encouraged viewers to take things with a grain of salt:
“Don’t believe whatever you read. Maybe we should all do a little fact-checking.”

She went on to reassure everyone that Netflix still has a working relationship with the couple:
“We have movies in development with them.”
The businesswoman also gushed that Netflix “had an amazing documentary with them” in 2022’s Harry & Meghan, which documented the couple’s decision to take a step away from the royal family. Bajaria added:
“[Meghan and Harry] have things in development on the TV and film side. … Deals come and go all the time. There are deals that are deals we don’t renew.”
But we doubt every deal is worth the reported $100 million the couple earned!!! That’s one big reason it was on everyone’s radar!
She noted Netflix has “so many deals” currently in the works, but next to none receive the same kind of attention as those involving Meghan and Harry “for obvious reasons.” She dished:
“I guess there’s no juicy story there.”
Inneresting. Guess the real proof is when — or rather, if — we finally see more content from the couple! That’s when we’ll really know who’s telling the truth!
