Sabrina Carpenter is protecting herself and family against a fan taking it too far.
According to TMZ on Monday, the pop star is seeking court-ordered protection from a man who has shown up to her home on numerous occasions, even after getting arrested.
The singer’s team went to court on Friday to file a petition for a restraining order against 31-year-old William Applegate, who allegedly showed up at her LA home on May 23 unannounced and uninvited. The legal docs say it was “clear to [her] that his approach was deliberate, calculated and aggressive, which is deeply alarming.”

Apparently, the man tried opening her front door and then rang the bell. He refused to comply once her security confronted him. He pretended to know Sabrina and didn’t leave until cops showed up and arrested him. Wow.
Less than 24 hours after the arrest, the man returned to the home on May 24, but this time, he left when security told him to. But he came back on May 25, which resulted in another police response.
Clearly upset over this, Sabrina wrote in the legal filing:
“William Applegate is a complete stranger to me. I have never met him or communicated with him in any way. I have no desire to meet him or communicate with him.”
She was granted a temporary restraining order requiring the man to stay away from her, her sister Sarah, and her sister’s boyfriend, George. A hearing is set for later this month to determine if the TRO will be extended or made a permanent order.
