Melania Trump had everyone at the White House panicking!
On Thursday, the First Lady made an unusual speech declaring she never had a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell. She also advocated for all the victims to get a chance to speak before Congress.
According to CNN Senior White House Correspondent Kristen Holmes via X (Twitter), many “White House officials were stunned by the timing of the First Lady’s remarks, which sparked rumors that she was trying to get out ahead of something.”
She continued:
“One official said there was disagreement among those close to Melania Trump as to whether or not to go through with the remarks, given that the story had died down. But stories linking the first lady to Epstein were still circulating online, and Melania Trump wanted to go on the record with a firm denial, the official said.”

Interestingly, even POTUS himself revealed he had no clue what she was going to say! Seriously?! Donald Trump told MS NOW journalist Jacqueline Alemany that he didn’t “know anything about” Melania’s statement before she made it. However, he agreed with her version of events:
“He was in a meeting about the war & couldn’t speak further. ‘She didn’t know him,’ he added before hanging up, referring to Epstein.”
How did he not know?! Is she going rogue??

FWIW, a source familiar with the situation told CNN that Donald “was aware” that Melania planned to speak out, and a notice about her statement was sent out a day prior. Hmm. Guess he wasn’t that aware of all the details though if that call is to be believed!
If she thought denying the rumors about her ties to Epstein was going to shut down all chatter, she was very, very wrong. It’s only made people dig into the Epstein files even more!! We have to imagine the White House is pissed about that! Donny’s been working hard trying to get the public’s attention diverted away from all the allegations coming out about him and his ties to the convicted sex offender. The last thing he needs is for everyone to start investigating again!!
