Meryl Streep Supports Cancer Awareness In Screen For Life PSA!

Meryl Streep is such an inspiration!
The Hope Springs actress got together with Katie Couric to promote her Entertainment Industry Foundation’s National Colorectal Cancer Research foundation, which is teamed up with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and to do her part, Miz Streep recorded a PSA that urges everyone to get screened for colorectal cancer.
Since Meryl knows how important it is to screen for this type of cancer, she reveals that she made everyone she knows get a test done, and noted:

“It’s important to get the word out, people should know how easy it is to go through the procedure that can detect polyps and early cancer.”

Couric cofounded her foundation after her hubby, Jay Monahan died of colon cancer in 1998, so getting Meryl on her team has made her extremely appreciative.
She said:

“‘Icon’ is overused, but Meryl Streep truly is an American├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥and worldwide├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥icon. She is an ideal ambassador to convey that screening saves lives, and we are profoundly grateful for her support.”

The Screen for Life: National Colorectal Cancer Action Campaign is set to be released on a series of PSAs this month, which is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
But before you start going PSA crazy, ch-ch-check out the Streep’s public service announcement (above)!
