Michael Jackson Once Tried To Date Halle Berry?!?

Michael Jackson once tried to date Halle Berry

We didn’t think we’d be getting this kind of tea on Instagram LivesVerzuz series!

While duking it out with fellow music production legend Teddy Riley on Monday night, Babyface revealed Michael Jackson once tried to slide in Hally Berry’s landline and ask her out on a date.

The story came after Riley played SWV‘s jam Right Here, which samples MJ’s 1982 song, Human Nature. When the song ended, Babyface began:

“Speaking of MJ, it reminds me of a story—true story, fun fact. One time, Michael called me, Michael said, ‘Babyface, do you know who Halle Berry is? Do you know Halle Berry?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I know Halle Berry.’ He said, ‘Could you do me a favor? I want you to call her because I want to take her out on a date.’ I said, ‘What?’ and he said, ‘Call her, I want to take her out on a date.'”

The hitmaker said he didn’t have the actress’ number, so he gave her management team the message and waited for a response.

He continued:

“I can’t tell you exactly what Halle said, but I imagine it probably would have been something like this…”

Babyface then played a clip from Berry’s 1992 film Boomerang (which he produced the soundtrack of, btw), where her character Angela Lewis says:

“You know, what do you know about love? What do you possibly think you know about love?”

Sounds accurate to us! Ha!

Ch-ch-check out the clip (below):

Babyface and Riley’s Verzuz battle — the latest in the series that has been put together by hip-hop icons Timbaland and Swizz Beatzreportedly drew more than half a million viewers, with the likes of Michelle Obama, Queen Latifah, Pusha-T, Snoop Dogg, Rashida Jones, and Gabrielle Union tuning in.

Their battle was set to take place earlier this month, but it was rescheduled amid news that the 62-year-old and his family had tested positive for COVID-19.

On his birthday earlier this month (April 10), the producer posted a statement on social media telling fans that he and his fam had since beat the virus and were “on [their] way back to full health,” writing:

“I feel so blessed to be able to celebrate another birthday. I tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, as did my family. It’s an incredibly scary thing to go through my friends. I’m happy to report we have now tested negative and are on our way back to full health. With that being said… I would officially accept the invitation from the legendary Swizz Beatz & Timbaland to participate with my little brother, Teddy Riley in what I’d like to call a Celebration of Black Music Excellence… So get ready for a night of groove and love. Ladies… put on your red dress… light the candles, pour some wine, and don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes…”

We’re glad to see he’s in good health — and spilling some good tea!

Do U think Halle and Michael ever went on their date, Perezcious readers?
